Breakwater Capital has a small team that is primarily focused on investment management, all non investment functions are outsourced.

The investment team consists of a group of individuals with significant experience in alternative strategy fund management.

Tracy Morkel
BCom (Acc); Honours (Fin Management)

Tracy has over 15 years experience in asset management with 5 years in hedge fund management. She worked at Fairheads, BOE and Coronation before co-founding Breakwater Capital in November 2003. She has managed a wide range of funds, which consistently performed in the upper quartile of their relevant category.

Andrew Koch
BCom; BCompt (Hons); CA (SA)

Andrew completed his articles at Ernst & Young before working for JP Morgan and Credit Suisse in London. On his return to South Africa, he took up a position at HSBC as an analyst covering the financial services sector, quickly becoming a top rated analyst. He joined Coronation’s hedge fund team at the beginning of 2002 and left Coronation to co-found Breakwater Capital in November 2003.
